COLLAGEN ELASTIN LINE

Collagen and elastin together weave a microscopic network of fibers that provide a framework in which cells and blood vessels grow. The condition of the collagen content in the dermis determines the resilience of the skin.

During puberty, collagen-elastin fibers multiply and expand to establish a beautifully ordered and diagonal-mesh structure. Collagen is soluble in water, so skin that is rich in collagen remains hydrated and looks smooth. Skin is most supple in adolescence because the connective tissue is rich in young collagen that holds an intricate design and efficiently retains moisture.

After adolescence, collagen and elastin in the skin relax. The structure deforms and so the skin loses its ability to effectively preserve moisture and support the pathways of blood capillaries. The fibrous network homogenizes and loses resilience; skin dehydrates and the beautiful structure fades. The decline in collagen adversely affects the appearance of what might otherwise be healthy and pliant skin.

Collagen Elastin confers a myriad of benefits to skin: suppleness; increased moisture retention; improved capillary function; smoother and refreshed surface; improved contact ability with water molecules; and new collagen fibers, strong and elastic, develop.
