When skin cells have adequate omega-3 fatty acids, the epidermis performs normal functions with greater efficiency: regeneration, hydration, removal of wastes and toxins, transport of oxygen and vitamins. Many clients, however, are deficient in these nutrients and can develop skin conditions that include: dryness, inflammation, eczema and premature aging.
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential to humans because the body cannot synthesize them: it must absorb them from other sources. Shira’s utilizes three different forms of omega-3 fatty acids, including: ALA from flaxseed, and EPA and DHA from fresh salmon oil. We also add Vitamin E, an anti-oxidant, to preserve the activity of the delicate omega-3 structure.
